Soprano Erica Page has performed in various settings ranging from musical theatre to dance to television, though her focus is on opera and classical vocal repertoire. Ms. Page has been recognized for her “well-supported high soprano voice,” which is aptly suited to a variety of roles in lyric-coloratura, soubrette, and lyric soprano repertoire. More recently, Erica has been moving towards full lyric soprano repertoire to accommodate the growth in her instrument.
Erica Page was a part of Opera Manhattan's emerging artist program, having sung Despina in a concert version of Cosî fan tutte and also Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica. Ms. Page performed several featured roles in One World Symphony’s New York premiere of Jonathan Dove’s new orchestration for The Cunning Little Vixen, including the mischievous young boy Pepik and the hilariously frenetic hen Chocholka. Other highlights of recent seasons include Gretel in Opera Manhattan’s holiday production of Hansel and Gretel, in which she was acclaimed for her “angelic fervor” and “radiant soprano,” and Adele in Die Fledermaus, also with One World Symphony.
Notable engagements for Ms. Page include a stunning performance of Musetta in La Boheme with Cantiamo Opera, The Consul with the Bronx Opera, and Suor Angelica with Garden State Opera. She "adeptly took on the role of the eager schoolteacher Miss Wordsworth" in Albert Herring with Intermezzo Young Artist’s Program under the baton of Steven Crawford, who was then also conducting at the famed Metropolitan Opera. Ms. Page’s New York area debut was as the Queen of the Night in an English language version of The Magic Flute, with the Stony Hill Players of New Jersey.
Erica Page is also at home with oratorio and art song repertoire. She has appeared as soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah and Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, also in Schubert’s Mass in G and Vivaldi’s Magnificat with East Carolina University. More recently she sang with the Delaware Jazz Festival Orchestra in Ellington’s rarely-performed Sacred Works. She has given numerous recitals and concert performances in North Carolina, Florida, and the New York area, as well as internationally in France, Germany, Spain and Portugal. Erica is currently the soprano soloist & section leader at the 2nd Reformed Church of Hackensack, NJ.
Hailing from Orlando, FL, Ms. Page received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, where she was the recipient of a school-wide scholarship to study in France with renowned collaborative pianist Dalton Baldwin. She holds a M.M. from East Carolina University which she attended on several scholarships, one of which was the prestigious Liberace Scholar Award. She performed several lead roles at East Carolina, including her operatic debut as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro. Erica is a student of Dr. Julian Kwok.
